Word Wednesday

For the most part a pontificator. A debate. A speaker. When I was in college, I won the first oratorical competition created by one of the fraternities. I was most comfortable doing that.

I've learned along many things in life. One of the most important things I have learned in life was the power of words. The biggest lie ever told to us as children was that "Sticks and stones, may break my bones, but your words could never hurt me." I am certain this was a defense mechanism created by someone but the truth is that words do hurt.

I am grateful to have been raised by a powerful mother. She was a mother that fed me strength and still does. I never contemplated suicide, because she always lifted me up when others tore me down.
