Dining room progress

Good Thursday Everyone!

I was about to throw this chair (well its a pair) out to the trash on yesterday, when I decided, "Hmmm maybe I should try to paint it." I've painted chairs before (SEE THIS POST), but I wasn't so sure about this particular fabric.

So I popped into HomeDepot had a chat with John and he suggested a really good paint for the chairs. So I bought the paint took it home and was immediately satisfied with the results.

This is chair number one and I have one more that I am going to show you later on in a special online issue.

If you have been following me for any length of time you will know that I am highly attracted to dark spaces. So black was the obvious color choice here. Gray would have worked as well, but there is something so sophisticated about black. There are people who decorate with all white.

Me?

If is black, I am probably going to like it.

There have been a few bumps in the road, like a dresser and high boy set that I wanted from a thrift store, it was somewhat out of my budget, but it was gorgeous. I went back for it and it was gone. Sigh.

The last hiccup is that I missed out on a good price for the sofa I have been eyeing for a while online. I found it on Target.com , but I dallied too long and missed it. I was for sure the sofas would be around because there was 15. I guess I was wrong. The sofa is still available o a number of websites for about $300 more. I guess I will have to bite the bullet and buy it, unless I bump into something online.

There are some dining chairs that I'd like to get. The problem is only 2 are available near me and I would have to drive about an hr and a half one way and an hr another way to pick up six. That is a a lot going on for some dining chairs, but its what I want. I will update you as I go along.

Well that is about it for the sneak peek of the dining room. There is a table I am going to get and I am redoing 6 chairs (yes they will be black) for the space as well.

After a few accessories I will show you the completed project.

So what do you think?

Oh the wall? I will talk about that soon!
