Friday Finds

Oh my. Its Friday! I know today is going to be quite busy for me, but I wanted to share a few of my "Friday Finds". I did not buy any of these pieces as I don't have a need for them, but all of these were at great prices and would excellent candidates for a make for someone's home.
Finding a great sofa in a thrift store is rare for me, because of the style and color sofa I prefer. Since everyone's taste is different this sofa would be right at home for a number of you. I could actually decorate a bright and fun room around this piece. I would take off the skirt and expose the legs for sure. Perhaps this sofa was 80 some odd dollars? I cant remember, but it is a great buy. I know someone is going to ask about bed bugs. That is not an issue here in the South. So I never worry about it. If you are in New York, that's a different story. As always, you are required to buy anything, so if you are scared about bed bugs...ummm.
I so wanted this rustic table. It was so sturdy. Of course I want to repaint it. I will admit the wood makes this table amazingly beautiful.
Side Chairs are really abundant at thrift stores. Some of the prices have gotten a bit high, but some are very reasonable as well. Like these. I think they were $15 a piece. In order to get the same look they would definitely have to be take to a professional upholsterer. OR you could take THIS CLASS and walk away with amazing skills on how to redo them yourself!
The problem I find with dressers is at thrift stores is this. I want to take them all home! The other problem is, I dont have the space, neither a truck. Ive got 99 problems and most of them deal with dressers and thrift stores. If you have a little time on your hands, I would so tell you to pick up a dresser make it over and put it in your home. It is completely worth it.

These are just a few of the amazing pieces I came across and I wish I could rescue them all, but I cant. So I will have to leave them in hopes they find a good home.

Which one was your favorite?

What Would You Do? (Friday Finds)

Welp its Saturday! That means absolutely nothing if you are a business owner. However, I thought I'd show you guys a few pieces I spotted in the thrift store and a few other places.
I am sure many of you have seen pieces like this transformed throughout the blogosphere. I think it is a very substantial piece for perhaps a tv a a few other items. It provides a huge amount of storage for toys if you have a few little ones in the home.

Of course using it as a buffet and storing plates, napkins and all other wares for entertaining is quiet ideal. Wish I had the space or the room. Sigh. I just don't. Even if I had $23, I had no truck.
I admit. I moved a whole bunch of stuff out of the way to get this photo. I am pretty sure the workers in the store thought I was going to buy it. Nope. I just want to get a good photo. I LOVE these type pieces. They have the perfect lines and construction. Its no too old looking and its right on trend with what is being sold in high end furniture show rooms. I can definitely see this is a deep sensual shade of grey. The front inset alone was worth the purchase. It was only $20!!!!

I know right.

Last find. Not at a thrift store, but if you were looking for a local source...
So I was on InstaGram the other day and one of the locals grammed that they found a ghost chair...in Ross! I didn't believe. I was itching to go out to Ross right then and there, but I waited a few days. When I popped in on yesterday, I was almost disappointed because the furniture section was quite bare, except for a few other pieces and this ghost chair!

Ghost chairs have been trendy for quite sometime. I am in the process of order 20 for the studio and really wanted to test it out before I made such a large purchase. Well. I did. They are pretty comfortable. I was nervous about the frame because when you sit down the chair does that thing the plastic outdoor chairs do. That wasn't too bad, because its not like I will be hosting a musical chair rally with the chairs. lol.

Have you seen the ghost chairs in your local Ross store?

How about the above pieces? What would you do with them? Id love to know in the comments!

Weekend Finds | 7.5

Happy Monday Everyone!

This was a very busy weekend for me as it was our 30th church convocation and I went to Florence, SC to be in the number. I also went to visit my sister in Columbia, SC. Since I was in Columbia, I decided at the last minute to make a quick pit stop into Goodwill. Just to see if anything there was worth sharing. Well, here is what I came across.

Friday Finds

Happy Friday everyone! I am in full swing mood on getting the studio completely decorated before the summer ends. I'm not sure why I set myself up for such a task, but I did. lol. I don't buy as many pieces from the thrift store as I used to, but here are a couple of items I picked up this week.
I visited one of my favorite Goodwill stores the other day and went straight to the knick knack area. That's where they keep the lamps. This store normally has a great selection of large lamps and to my wonderful surprise they had this pair. I really loved the urn shape of the lamps, but of course I hated the finish.

As I am walking up to pay for the lamps, the lady at the checkout turns around and says, "I can never find great lamps when I come in here." I'm thinking, "That's because you aren't really looking." Seriously friends. You must keep your eyes open at all times when you are thrifting. You never know what you may stumble upon.

I've already started making over the lamps. I spray painted one of them white. There are so many options when it comes to refreshing a thrift store lamp, but since this is going into my design studio, its best to redo it is a neutral color in order to maximize all of the intricate details.
While I was taking out the trash from the studio, I bumped into this piece. I have NEVER dumpster dived, so I was turning around looking to see if someone was coming back for it. That lasted every bit of three seconds. I grabbed it and put it in my studio. SCORE! It does need a little TLC. If you look closely, the back leg on the left is splitting. I will need to get some wood glue and fix that. There are a few other areas that need some care, but those are doable. I'm still on the fence as to what color I will paint it (I'm not leaving it as it and shellacking it), although solid white seems to be ideal.
So the table had an extra self. I was laying on the the bottom self. I thought about leaving it, but I went back for it and returned it to its place. I actually like it better without the middle shelf, but its good to know I have options.

Designing the studio on a limited budget is going to be quite the task, but I am up for it.

Did you find anything great this week?
